Snake bite kit, pre 1970s
Queensland is home to a number of venomous snakes and the risk of death from snake bite is a real threat for remote outdoor workers. This snake bite kit was issued to government forestry workers as a safety measure. The kit comprised a lancet to cut open the snake bite, and Condy's crystals to counteract the venom. These methods are now regarded as more harmful than curative.
