Map of the artesian basin depicting southern outlet, 1920

Map appeared in J. Richert’s 1920 article ‘The flowing wells of western Queensland’ published in the Queensland geographical journal. The map depicts a geological fracture where artesian water ‘leaks’ into the Great Australian Bight. According to Richert, the origins of artesian water were both plutonic and meteoric. J.
