The busy Toowoomba Refreshment Room, c1910. The rush and press of seating and serving a three course meal to a train load of passengers was a feat in itself. Collection of Picture Queensland Neg.

Railway Refreshment Room Cardwell, 1934. Renowned for their Fish Luncheons, in 1928 the staff at Cardwell Railway Refreshment Rooms treated 10.5 tons of fish in a twelve month period.

Railway excursion tickets, 1953. Excursions from as early as 1913 provided an enjoyable trip to the countryside, paired with a dining experience in Railway Refreshment Rooms.
