Poinsettia, poker-work decorated doyley press. This shows how spectacularly successful the poinsettia ‘lends itself to illustration and reproduction’. These gift lines were promoted by department stores such as Finney Isles for gifts to be sent aboard. And the number of such decoration still to be found in Brisbane antique markets attest how popular a form of decoration it was at the time.
