Len Webb and students at the opening of the Tully State High School Rainforest Reserve, 1982

Len Webb and students at the opening of the Tully State High School Rainforest Reserve, 1982. Since the 1940s Webb, together with his colleague Geoff Tracey, had been at the forefront of ecological studies of the North Queensland rainforests. Webb’s understanding of the intricacies of rainforest ecology led him toward a moral vision of humanity’s relationship with nature similar to that of his friend, the poet Judith Wright.
