Goodna Asylum fences. The grounds became gardens, as Medical Superintendent Ellerton opened up the institution to visits from patients’ friends and relatives; wooden fences were replaced by less claustrophobic wire, or buried in the ground as a ‘ha-ha’. Collection of Mark Finnane & Joanna Besley
