 The Queensland Centenary pocket songbook, Queensland Centenary Publications Committee, 1959. The Songbook had five sections of folk music – Convicts and bushrangers, Station life, Drovers and shearers, Travelers and exiles, Selectors and bush tradesmen. Many of the songs are imported and have multiple variants reflecting the geography of Australia. Collection of the Centre for the Government of Queensland

Queensland was separated from New South Wales as a colony in 1859. The western Queensland border was extended in June 1862, creating the present Queensland shape.
